The Motor Industry Public Affairs Association (MIPAA) Limited is a dynamic membership organisation helping communicators within the motor industry work more effectively by providing training, workshops, events and opportunities for networking.
With over 400 individual members, MIPAA is the world’s largest network of professional motor industry communicators representing major automotive brands, vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, consultancies and other institutions connected with the sector, in the UK and overseas.

Vacancies in the industry are promoted via JobSearch, which also offers a personal “match making” service connecting job seekers and those with career opportunities. The JobSearch service is free to members and available to non-members for a £25 fee (inc VAT for 12 weeks).
In addition, MIPAA offers a Business Academy professional development programme, Leadership Forum and social activities – see the Events page for the current schedule.

MIPAA KEY VALUES
COLLABORATION: MIPAA is a community of professionals run by its members. It is a vibrant association offering training, workshops, events and networking as opportunities to develop best practice . News and views from members are featured in the magazine, Revolve, with comments and ideas sought in an annual online survey. Regular communications include eNews updates and social media including: Twitter @mipaa, and groups in both Facebook and LinkedIn.
PROFESSIONALISM: MIPAA has grown into a professional organisation of over 400 members from an original informal network (Spoke ‘n’ Wheel) first established in 1968. It is managed by an Executive Committee comprising elected Directors, supported by an Operating Committee. Day to day management of MIPAA is undertaken by an experienced general secretary. MIPAA has established relationships with key partners, such as the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and Public Relations Consultancy Association.
LEADERSHIP: Members are supported in building valuable connections via a Leadership Forum programme. This offers opportunities to share ideas and develop strong relationships with media and other stakeholders, through communications, formal meetings and informal activities. It also includes online initiatives and work-oriented events where best practice approaches are shared and specialist meetings that facilitate an exchange of experience and development of industry standards.
DEVELOPMENT: The MIPAA Business Academy offers cost-effective, practical training and professional development ranging from fast-track introductory courses to high-level management workshops. Social media has been a core focus since 2005, whilst the annual PR Masterclass focuses on topical strategic issues relevant to members. MIPAA’s Professional Development Programme offers those with 1-3 years’ experience development in essential skills, experience opportunities, individual mentoring and unique online resources.
SUPPORT: MIPAA’s Job Search facility offers career advice and aims to match industry vacancies with suitable candidates and vice versa. Associate membership enables those who have moved into other working spheres or who have retired to keep in touch with motor industry colleagues. Membership at an associate level helps those in their first year of motor industry PR make friends and learn the ropes. Two years’ free membership under the MIPAA Associate programme is available for those studying PR or undertaking a placement in the industry, who aim to commence careers in the automotive sector. Honorary membership recognises valuable past and present service to the Association. MIPAA also maintains a close liaison with Ben, the motor industry benevolent fund.
