Paul Charles, Chief Operating Officer, LEWIS PR
A former BBC radio and television presenter, Paul was director of communications for Virgin Atlantic and close adviser to Sir Richard Branson from 2006-2009. He was responsible for the airline’s corporate, consumer, strategic and crisis communications worldwide; overseeing new route launches, results announcements, aircraft orders, environmental strategic planning and the communications campaign for Virgin Atlantic’s successful 25th birthday events. Paul was also instrumental in building Virgin Atlantic’s social media strategy.
Before joining Virgin Atlantic, Paul was director of communications at Eurostar, responsible for launching the UK’s first high-speed trainline.
During his decade reporting, producing and presenting programmes at the BBC, Paul worked on the World Business Report, Money Programme, BBC1 Breakfast and Radio 4’s Today, MoneyBox, Inside Money and The Financial World Tonight.
Paul was named PR professional of the year by PR Week in 2004 and won the CorpComms award for Best Crisis Communications in 2009. |
